Ted talk
Ted Talks;
Are schools killing creativity?
Sir Ken Robinson believes so.
I enjoyed listening to his talk and how it makes sense, how important the arts and movement are in our children's life.
He gives an example at the end of a young girl who moved and could not keep still when she learnt. The teachers thought she needed medication, she was not learning because she could not keep still and was sick. One teacher said to her mother take her to a dance school, let her move, let her create. Her mother listened and she is one of the most famous dance choreographers of our time.
Ted Talk, Sir Ken Robinson
Elizabeth Gilbert who wrote Eat, Pray, Love. Her view on our elusive creative genius.
I just loved near the end how she describes creativity in everyone, how we all get that creative feeling and how her favourite poet grabbed and held onto her creativity, how she put it all on paper.
Elizabeth's words are beautiful to listen to, how she gave her talk was lovely to watch, her hand movements and descriptions of creativity.
