Family Reunion

We had a family reunion not long ago which was lovely. My sister had organised it and without her getting the ball rolling and organising times, dates and invites, we would still be longing to catch up with everyone.
I think we need someone in our lives that is the organiser and bless them because the night brought me some special moments like .............

New love- asking our cousin who is now living overseas about her new boyfriend, the smile could not be taken off her face.

Bridie (my little girl) getting ready for the party at 7am in the morning, it didn't start until 3pm.

My mum's special cob loaf dip- it had been sitting on the table for ages and all of my family (dad, Paul, Leigh and I) didn't want to be rude reaching over everyone to dip in it, so mum brought it inside and we all swooped in and polished it off as we sat in the kitchen.

Watching the cousins excitement to all be together at a party.

Watching everyone eat balancing their plates on their laps.

My Pop and Sister spoke briefly and thanked everyone coming. My pop was the attraction of the night and when he spoke you could hear it in his voice that he was so grateful and happy in that exact moment.

The two youngest kids ( Balun and Leni) were the ones to stay up the latest.

Asking one couple if they were planning on getting married. The look in the girl's eyes was lovely just waiting for his response.

Stories most of all, the stories of when we were young, teenagers, love, travels and life.

Games, backyard cricket, sparkles, covering people with cosy blankets as they fell asleep on the couch, laughs and the toowoomba wind which gave us all a surprise.
