A night out
Last night my two little people with the sweetest hearts decided they wanted to come out with Craig and I for dinner and a movie.
They disappeared into their rooms and got dressed in their best clothes which were just delightful. Bridie had a tu tu on that showed half her bottom but to her with her sparkly shirt and back to front shoes, she was ready for a night out. Balun was brushing his long locks of hair as he sat with his back to front jeans on and a new shirt, which if anyone knew Balun he wears the same clothes day in and day out. Jeans and a new shirt was a big deal for this little boy.
They begged that they could now come because they both took the time to dress up and look handsome.
"We look handsome mum so we think we have to come with you, we did all this for you because we want to be with you".
I sat with them under Bridies fairy lights in her room and we talked and told each other stories until my mum arrived to watch over them.
After a lot of love and stories, Bridie said "it is ok that you go out for a nice night with Dad but if your just having dinner next time can Balun and I please come because the movie is a grown up movie but dinner we can all eat and all be together".
Of course I said. Mum arrived and continued to tell stories as Craig and I left, they wanted to hear stories of when I was a little girl, something they had not heard yet about me as we tell lots of stories of when I was a little girl. Balun will say, "please tell the stories out of your mouth about you, when you were little mum".
My mum was sitting there under the fairy lights telling stories to her grandchildren of her daughter, a nice moment.
I arrived home to hear my mum say, "they are just beautiful Kate, beautiful children".
