The sand
As we walked over the sand to go to the toilet my daughter says to me, " I love the sand, it tells stories of who has been here".
Bridie pointed out the marks from the shoes imprinted in the sand. "See mum, you can see a person wearing shoes has been here and someone with no shoes, there are little footprints and there are wet prints. I also love that it is soft and cool and sometimes it makes a squishy sound."
I asked if she could tell me some more about the sand and her reply was "No, that's all." And just like that we continued on our path to the toilet, holding hands and just being with each other speaking no words.
I truly love our moments dear Bridie.
