An afternoon
I was taken to a beautiful place recently, Ingoldsby.
A place tucked gently amongst the most beautiful green hills, a place hidden from the big wide world where I am sure magic grows and wonderful memories are made.
Erica asked me to take photos of her family at her parents farm.
We drove down together and the drive there you could feel you were getting closer to something precious, something special and as we arrived it did not disappoint, it was beautiful.
This lovely farm is owned by Erica's parents and has been in the family for over 100 years.
As soon as we arrived,Will the eldest boy jumped out of the car and ran up the hill to round up some horses. You could see his love for the land and animals immediately. All afternoon Will spoke of the animals, their names, stories of his time here at the farm and you could see the animals were drawn to him just as he was to them.
Erica's mum was inside preparing dinner for them all and baked a chocolate cake. It was lovely to meet her later in the afternoon listen to some of her stories as she walked around the property with us.
Erica's girls, Adelaide and Nigella ran barefoot around the farm, climbed hills, danced in the mud, giggled and whispered. they were just beautiful, quiet and both had a little something special about them.
Nigella was quiet and stayed close to her Dad and I often found her wrapped in his arms, holding hands or throwing a ball with him. Adelaide gave me the sweetest smiles and happy in the moment.
Late in the afternoon we heard a truck making its way up the long road and it was Erica's Dad coming home after a day out at a camp draft.
The dogs barked and Will again was eager to greet the horses that were in the back of the truck. He immediately climbed onto the back of one of the horses and began wandering up the hills as he nestled comfortably in the saddle.
A group of cattle were interested in us and began wandering down the hill so we all walked up to greet them. Eileen, Erica's mum came along for the walk and Jim, Erica's dad walked halfway and watched over us all on one of the beautiful hills.
This was such a lovely family and afternoon to be part of. I drove away feeling very grateful to have been invited there.
