Dear Buttons

At this very moment 1 year ago I was in labour bringing you; my little Buttons into this world.
Buttons, a name Bridie and Balun chose for you.

You were brought into this world just before midnight only to go back to sleep and live with those beautiful angels in the sky.

Bridie and Balun will talk of you often and I love that they do. I never squander it but nurture it. They point things out or are reminded of something that makes them think of you.

Today I heard Bridie and Balun sitting on the rocks talking about you. I crept around to see what they were doing only to find them drawing pictures for you in our rock garden on the rocks.

Balun saw me and said "mum, you can't look, it is for Buttons and it is a suprise. We will show you when we finish, we want to fill all the rocks with colour and pictures for Buttons."

I look forward to seeing their creations and the colour they have added in our garden for you.

I never spoke of you today but it was like they knew in their hearts that today you were to be remembered.

I thought of you all day and still now as I write this to you.

I think of what could have been and sometimes that makes me feel sad but I am so happy I got to hold you inside of me for all those months and that you chose me. I am blessed to have met you and able to touch your little hands.

You were given to me to remind me of the beauty in life and the happiness I am surrounded by every day. Life doesn't always go as planned and you taught me that, you taught me patience, you taught me empathy, you taught me to grieve and what loss feels like, you taught me to cherish what I have and to follow my passions. You reminded me of the love a mother has for her child.
It's all ok because I know you watch over us every day just as I look up to you everyday and watch over you.
Balun and Bridie are so lucky to have you, their little sister a shining star watching over them each night with the angels.
You'll be forever remembered and forever a part of our family.
